There are many places in Switzerland where the beauty of nature is revealed and yet not a single person is around. These 6 places can give you a different perspective on Switzerland.

1. Bachalpsee

A truly mesmerizing mountain lake in the Bernese Oberland. This place is relatively well-known among tourists, but it cannot be overlooked. Many call Bachalpsee the epitome of Switzerland's mountain beauty. If you want to go mountain hiking, this is one of the best and easiest ways.

Here you will see breathtaking snow-capped mountains, verdant meadows, crystal clear lakes and vibrant wildflowers. The gentle melodies of ringing cow bells only add to the atmosphere. In addition, Bachalpsee is an ideal day trip from Interlaken, Lucerne or Zurich.

2. Melchsee-Frutt

Here you will find two beautiful lakes at once, surrounded by majestic mountains. Melchsee-Frutt is a small mountain resort village. It is far from being as well known, but boasts two impressive alpine lakes, Melchsee and Tannensee.

If you're looking for a relaxing vacation, a stroll through the flowery hills in the shadow of the snow-capped peaks of the Swiss mountains will definitely do you good. 3. Bannalpsee

Bannalpsee is a secluded reservoir in the Swiss canton of Nidwalden, near Engelberg. The place is very quiet and peaceful: the reservoir was built in the early XX century, but there are almost no tourists here. This place is one of the most peaceful in Switzerland. If you want to be alone with nature, you should come here. Although it's not a popular place, it's perfect for long walks.

4. Stoos

If you are looking for a bit of extreme and thrill, this is the place for you. Here you will find the world's steepest cable car. It rises at an incline of 110 degrees. However, the way is absolutely safe and measured, the whole extreme is in the realization of the angle at which the cable car rises. In five minutes you will pass through 740 meters and move to Stoos, a quiet village at the foot of the Frohnalpstok mountain. You can also walk to Stoos itself. It only takes half an hour and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Alternatively, you can use the ski elevator to get to the top of Fronalpstok. At an altitude of 2000 meters, you will enjoy panoramic views of Lacern Lake and many other lakes. It is a wonderful place for walking, so active tourists should come here.

5. Aar gorge

This place is a kind of phenomenon. The Aar Gorge is a unique rock formation. It was formed over thousands of years by erosion caused by the Aara River. A network of footpaths inside the gorge allows you to see this geological phenomenon up close.

6. Lavertezzo

A little-known village in the south of Switzerland for lovers of romantic atmosphere. This place boasts picturesque landscapes and unique stone buildings that exude historical charm. A 17th century stone bridge with a double arch, the Ponte dei Salti, spans the emerald-colored Verzasca River.
